Medifast - A Slow But Steady Weight Loss Regimen
Posted Tuesday, January 01, 2008
Are you a little bit of a maverick? Not to use a term recently abused in the McCain/Palin Presidential campaign, but many of us are just that little bit different. We follow the beat of our drummer. We don't like to follow the conventions of society. We are mavericks.
For all the mavericks out there, this may be the weight loss regimen for you. It is called Medifast and it is perfect for the kind of person who finds the tried and true rule of three balanced meals a day to be a total crock. Medifast teaches dieters to eat smaller, high protein meals six times a day. Yes, you read that right! Six times a day. If you can't imagine doing anything six times a day, you might want to just move on.
Medifast is a meal-centered portion control program. It offers pre-packaged meals at a pretty reasonable cost when you consider some of its competition. A two week supply of food runs $150 while a four week supply pre-purchase will save you a little money at $275. Medifast doesn't give you any diet supplements or fat blocking pills as part of the regimen. Every 2-3 hours, though, you will need to find time to eat one of your six daily meals. Exercise is also pivotal to Medifast user's success. Remember, exercise will also just make you feel better.
Medifast is a well respected diet in all health circles but the only complaint is that while weight loss is steady it can be slow going. So if you need a crash diet where you can lose 25 pounds before that High School Reunion in three weeks, keep looking. But if you want a diet that follows the beat of its own drummer, Medifast might just be the perfect thing for you.
