The Lean and Green Meal and its Importance

Some people are thinking about playing around with the medifast diet plan, or tweaking its system just a little bit, and they think that nothing will change. The main reason for this kind of thinking is because the thought of preparing a "Lean and Green meal" does not sound too attractive to many, especially to those who live very busy lifestyles. The lean and green meal is that one larger main meal that MediFast asks them to prepare themselves. This will supply them with protein and nutrient sources from meat and vegetables-the kinds of nutritious stuffs that are optimally ideal if gotten from fresh foods. Aside from the aforementioned reason though, there are several other thoughts why people want to skip this important part of the medifast diet plan.

Other than being used to the comfort of not having to prepare their own food, one of the reasons for wanting to skip the lean and green meal is that people think that they are going to take in extra carbs and calories with a sixth meal. This happens when they begin to take the diet seriously and do not want to disrupt the entire process in fear that their weight loss efforts will just go to waste. However, the 5 prepackaged meals are already very low in calories. This means there is enough time to take in just the right amount of protein and some vegetables together with the entire meal plan.

Some suggest substituting the lean and green meal with a frozen meal or incorporating some other brand instead to fulfill the need of this main meal. However, the idea behind the lean and green meal is to take in fresh foods in order to help prepare the individual to cope with the transition phase of the diet program once the weight needed to be shed off have already been lost. Instead of thinking of easy-way-out's, take time to learn how to carefully pick healthy meals that will meet the requirement of this particular meal. It's going to be a part of your would-be healthy lifestyle anyway if you want to keep fit and maintain your weight, so you might as well exert some effort and learn as early as now.

The lean and green meal is actually not that inconvenient. It may seem like it, especially if you have already found the prepackaged meals very comfortable and hassle-free. But preparing a lean and green meal can be as easy as grilling indoors and complementing your lean meat barbecue with a bowl of fresh salad with your favorite dressing. If you want to make it more exciting, be creative by practicing various recipes that meet but do not exceed the nutritional specifics of the meal.

There is a lot of room for creativity in solving the dilemma over the lean and green meal. However, taking it out of your diet is not going to be the best solution. Instead, think of ways that will make preparing it more enjoyable for you, and you will certainly have no problem with it eventually and you will soon see and enjoy the benefits of having the lean and green meal as part of your medifast diet.
