Weight Loss Surgeries Or Diet Pills - Which Are Safer?

By: Vairo Anglis

You will of course, hear that surgery is a commonly talked about technique when anyone wishes to lose weight. There are types of surgeries, probably 4 of them, but each of them, just so you know, are equally risky and painful.

Vertical Banded Gastroplasty (VBG)

In VBG, the stomach is stapled up in two parts, with the upper part of the stomach having vastly reduced space, which constricts the amount of food you would take in.

The food you consume, is then pushed through to the lower bag with the help of a small tube like structure. The band that allows this is plugged, so that it doesn't expand more than the normal size.

RISKS: There are plenty of risks associated with this type of surgery. First, the band may wear down with time. Second, the staple line runs the risk of breaking down, and third, you could have stomach juices leaking into the abdomen, which can result in fatalities.

Laparoscopic Gastric Banding (Lap-Band)

In LGB, an inflatable band is placed around the upper section of the stomach. Just so you know - This type of surgery is only for people who weigh more than 100 lbs. Doctors would be able to change the size of the band depending on the condition of the severity of the disorder.

The risks associated with LGB are none too less than any other surgery. With this, you run the risk of having nausea, vomiting disorders, and breathlessness at some times.

Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RGB)

In RGB, the surgeon performing this surgery actually staples the stomach and creates a much smaller pouch. This small pouch is then attched to the middle of the small intestine. This limits the quantity of food you eat, and it also ensures the limiting of the nutrients absorbed by the body.

RISKS: Apart from nausea, dizziness, and other related symptoms, you could easily run the risk of having the food moving too quickly through the small intestine, which is not what you want at any point of time.

Biliopancreatic Diversion (BPD)

BPD is one of the rarely used surgical techniques, where surgeons remove a lot of the stomach, which limits the movement of food and production of acids. A small pouch is then connected to the final segment of the small intestine and with a common channel allowing the bile juices to flow, the process of assimilation is achieved.

RISKS: nutritional deficiencies.

Each of these surgeries, from all the information presented above, point out to the fact that they are risky techniques indeed.

Alli, Reductil and Xenitol

These are three weight loss supplements commonly talked about as alternatives to these surgical techniques. One thing is for sure -- These weight loss supplements do not expose the body to so many risks at all.

The best aspect of these pills is that you decide how long you want to use them. You could use them for 3 months or even for a period of 1 year. It entirely depends on your objective of weight loss.

Yet there is hope.

Proactol

Proactol for example, is a wonderful supplement that allows you to realize the objective of weight loss, without putting any undue stress on your body.

Proactol, a supplement whose credentials have been proven in clinical trials, ensures suppression of your appetite and also a reduction in fat intake by 26%. This supplement is considered to be highly effective, in its objective.

You will find a lot of weight loss pills online, but in comparison to all of them, Proactol scores high and the media has testified this in many of their articles.

Telegraph, the Daily Mail, the New York Times and apart from them, a lot of other health magazines have featured reviews on Proactol. If these were all credentials for Proactol, here is a weight loss supplement that can be considered as a natural solution to weight loss indeed.
